Jeollabuk Province, South Korea
Jeollabuk Province (North Jeolla or Jeollabuk-do 전라북도) is located in the west of Korea,
just above Jeollanam-do, in the south west corner. It’s Provincial Capital is Jeonju, and it
is also home to Imsil County – famous for it’s cheese pizzas!
The Province is known for its rice production, as well as the fine hiking found in its many
provincial parks. Jeonju City itself is steeped in culture, especially in its traditional
village area, where visitors can see examples of hanok (Korean traditional housing).
Bimbimbap (a popular dish consisting of rice, various vegetables, and often meat and egg) is
also a well known specialty in Jeonju.
