Gyeongsangnam Province, South Korea
Gyeongsangnam Province (South Gyeongsang Province or Gyeongsangnam-do 경상남도) is located in the
south eastern corner of South Korea, its coast meeting the East Sea. The two biggest cities in the
area are Busan and Ulsan, which are separately administered (see the Busan and Ulsan page for
details on them). The Provincial Capital is Changwon, and other notable cities in the province
include Jinju and Gimhae.
This province enjoys warmer weather than many other areas in South Korea, and a great deal of beaches
can be found here which are incredibly popular in the summer. As well as the expansive coastline,
Gyeongsangnam-do is also home to many mountains, including those in Jirisan National Park – one of
Koreas finest hiking destinations. Islands are also in abundance off the coast in this area.
